My cowboy

So these past few weekends Tj, Danny, Lane, Jason, and Jaceton have taken the horses out up on Table Mountain and then through Pevine. My sweet husband loves getting out and going up in the mountains with the horses, so even when I feel left behind or sad that he's gone, I have to remember this is a part of who he is. :)

Here are a few pictures from his trips!

13 weeks

I started getting a tiny bump around 12-13 weeks. (at 10 weeks my stomach started to look bloated) The bump is nothing major and if you didn't know I was pregnant you probably wouldn't be able to tell, but to all of us, it's neat! Now that I'm around 15-16 weeks it is a little bigger, still not a round baby bump but I'm thinking that look will only be a few weeks away!

First OB appointment

This may be a long post. Prepare yourself.

Booking our first appointment: I begged my mom to call and make the appointment, just the thought of me calling because I'm pregnant scared the heck out of me. (mind you we were waiting for Tj to start out at the test site, so I was around 10 wks when I called) that's plenty of time to prepare for this phone call.  Not to mention we planned this baby!! It's not like the pregnancy was an accident....guess I should have thought about all these things I had to do before we decided to have a baby! Well there's a lot of things that didn't cross my mind, but we will get to those later. Anyways *ring ring* Dr.'s office answered and I just blurted out I'm pregnant and need to make an appointment! She started asking all these questions....which insurance do we have, when was my last period, etc. I think I paused for a good ten seconds ( first of all my last period was a couple months ago....it took me a few minutes to recall that one, and Tj had JUST started out at the test site, so remembering the name of the insurance took a few minutes to figure out also) I think by this point in time she figured out this was my first baby. After we got all the info squared away she booked the appointment for 8:30 on Sept 21st. My remark...."is that in the morning?" PALM TO FACE duh Shaunna....!!! Like they would accept patients at 8:30 at night!!! She was very sweet and said "yes dear 8:30am." haha....... :)

First appointment: Considering the appointment was early in the morning, Mom, Tj and I drove down the night before and got a hotel room. I could not sleep for the life of me. I've never had my blood drawn. Never had an ultrasound. Never been seen at the Dr's for anything but a sports physical and the occasional seasonal flu or strep throat. This was only my 2nd papsmear. Not to mention what if something was wrong...what if the baby was growing on the outside of my uterus?! What if  there wasn't even a baby?! Can humans have false pregnancies like dogs...?! What if there is more than one! What if, What if, What if?!?!?!! We show up a half hour early....since they'd sent my new patient form in the mail and I had already filled it out we just sat....and let the anxiety build.

Then they call me back. First stop, the scale. Second the bathroom, where I have to pee in a cup (which I HATE doing!) Then I went into the room where mom and Tj were waiting. I got to put on a lovely gown, and Tj says "ha! You look funny!" Thanks babe....thanks.

(don't mind mom's finger in the way)

After crying and sweating, Jane, the nurse practioner came in. She remembered my mom and was so sweet. She did the ultrasound and the little baby was so perfect! She estimated our due date to be April 3rd and then sent us on our way! I got my blood drawn and then they took us into the ultrasound room for early detection testing for downs sydrome and stuff. We were so excited to see our baby again! This time the baby was fast asleep....she would poke my stomach and baby would stretch and move a little then go back to sleep. The last time she did that the baby found it's thumb and started sucking away. It was so sweet! The baby's heartbeat was so fast and strong Tj said "babe did you drink a red bull?!" lol of course I didn't, but it sure sounded like it! She looked between the legs and didn't see anything, so it could be a girl! Only being 12 1/2 weeks it's not very accurate so we will wait and see for sure.

It was truly a neat experience. After seeing baby, and knowing everything is normal and where it should be, I am very excited! (Tj has been excited from day one!) Not that I haven't been, but being scared kinda pushed the excitement to the side for a few weeks.

SLACKER!!!! I know...I know......

Baby is not even here and life has been a whirl wind! I can't believe I have not posted in over TWO months. I can honestly say that I have not been myself lately. I am 15 weeks and 5 days pregnant with our sweet baby, I don't know how women do this over and over and over....I now have so much respect for my mom. It's definitely not easy and I am slowly feeling my body change into something I know NOTHING about. About 2 weeks ago my mom, TJ, and I were down at the corral, I felt I had to pee....but nothing major so I figured I'd wait until we got home. I sneezed and pee'd a little! Ha! That may be a little TMI but it's the truth. *sigh* Here's to pregnancy!
